he ADB program in the Marshall Islands has provided loans, grants and technical assistance to grow the country’s economy and improve the lives of people, particularly the poor, women, children and other vulnerable groups.
ADB has been working with the Marshall Islands since 1990, providing loans, technical assistance, and grants amounting to over $125 million.
In recent years, ADB has helped the RMI in a variety of development areas. Through regional technical assistance projects, ADB has helped the RMI improve governance within state-owned enterprises (SOE) and develop SOE policy and legislation, which was passed by the country’s parliament in September 2015.
ADB will support integrated strategic planning for investments in renewable energy and the institutional strengthening of the Ministry of Finance. Future ADB operations will also be complemented by regional technical assistance programs, particularly in the areas of economic management, private sector development, and public sector management.
